Dax has been begging for a bigger bed. His twin wasn't cutting it. We love his room and prioritized floor space when we renovated it, but 2 years later, he'd rather have a big bed and [insert tears here], rarely plays on the floor anyway. Here's the bed we bought and the cute bedding I chose!

When I finished Dax's room, I promised to circle back and share a tutorial for his modern board and batten. Let me be the antithesis of a typical influencer and say no one was asking (haha) so I kind of moved on. But lately DMs have popped up asking how I did it so I figured it's time to do what I said I'd do, like 14 months ago. Oops. Here's how to complete a modern board and batten wall treatment-

1. Dude Perfect Book $17.95. This was the very first gift I bought this year! All of my kiddos love the show and Dax's party this year was Dude Perfect themed. As I was listing it, Dax walked by and asked for it. It's in my closet buddy, don't worry. ;)

2. Night Light Projector $18.99. This was a gift from my mom and Dax loves it! It's especially fun for sleepovers!

3. Laser Tag $199. I love that it's digital, has rechargeable batteries, and perfect for family fun. The kids got into laser tag at a local arcade and I think Dax (and all of us!) will love this!

4. Paper Airplane kit $14.95.What little guy doesn't love making paper airplanes? Any non-messy crafty item that keeps eyeballs off of screens is a win in my book!

5. Air Fort $49.95. If you don't have one yet, it's a MUST HAVE! The kids love ours and we love how incredibly simple it is to set up (vs. most other forts) and how neatly it stows away-- in a little fabric case. But do yourself a favor and pick up a box fan now if you don't have one! You'll thank me on Christmas morning!

6. Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course $139.99. You have no idea how tempted I am to burn our swing set and just use this. ha! My kids love Ninja Warrior and this would make a fantastic "big" gift!

7. Wall Mounted Ball Storage $9.99. Currently Dax's room boasts jerseys hanging on his cute, formerly perfectly styled bookshelf topped with balls and trophies. haha. I'm 100% for finding aesthetic ways to display their most loved items!

8. Walkie Talkies $35.99. I picked up several $5 walkies a couple of years ago but one was dropped in the toilet (don't ask). I'm replacing this year with this well reviewed version since they loved the last set  so much!

9. Remote Control Stunt Car $37.99. The only thing Dax gave me when I asked for his input (and Lego!) so it's in the cart. I like that it lights up and per the reviews is fast!

10. Blank Comic Book $6.99. I may wait one more year to snag this for Dax but I love the creativity required! He just got into the Big Nate series so I think his comic interest is piqued!

11. Handmade Bow and Arrow Set $34.97. Dax's specific set is no longer sold but he loves it so I had to include it. Perfect for the little adventurer in your life! Also loved this one- super fun that it comes with cans!

Usually slow and steady is how I roll. But since painting Dax's room was part of a sponsorship, it put my pace into overdrive. Funny how deadlines do that. ;) I shared all the details about the paint yesterday but wanted to follow up with the other sources and share a bit more of the process of designing a fun classic modern boy's room, here. Plus I share my BEST tips for designing a kid space. Oh and I've linked every source at the end for you!

I've worked on Dax's room on and off and on again. I've purchased a few things here and there and rearranged and randomly bought a new twin bed at 1 am. But what I haven't done is sit down and think about what I want it to look like and then take intentional steps toward that goal. So this is me doing that. If you're planning a kid space, hopefully, you can glean some inspo!

Dax turned 4 last week and we threw him a last-minute Batman party with neighborhood friends. Dax and Nadia's birthday are just one day apart and every year I try something different but whatever I try- September always seems crazy!

I finally made Dax's baby book. I know he's going to be three soon but I already get sad about him experiencing #3rdkidproblems so I knew I had to push through the busy-ness and get it done. And since it took forever and I'm really proud of myself for doing it and I hope Dax loves it one day, I'm sharing it here.

I really wanted to write a post about moving that would make me cry (and perhaps you too!).  But I'm really trying to ward off the sentimentality until I'm officially out of New Hampshire.  So instead here are a few pictures of Dax and Nadia's Camping themed pre-birthday bash--more to come later!

I spoke a bit about what dedications are when I shared Nadia's. For this one I focused on the scripture "Like arrows in the hands of a warrior, so are the children of one's youth." (Psalms 127:4). Of course I love the arrow reference but more importantly it's a reminder to launch our children at a target.  We strive to raise them in a godly way and have specific goals in mind as we train and nurture them day to day.  Dedicating them to God is the beginning of that journey.   It's a special ceremony and I like to celebrate with family afterward.  I don't consider it a big party but if I'm going to make people get up on a Sunday morning and be at church at 9:30 am, I'm going to feed them afterward. Just like Nadia's, I did a brunch. I kept decor simple with some fun scripture art, a banner, and a cute guest of honor. Here are a few photos.
