DIY Double Sided State Ornament - Pretty Real

DIY Double Sided State Ornament

1:28 PM

A while ago I grabbed an unfinished Christmas tree ornament from Michael's.  It was a blank canvas begging for a DIY.  Inspired by our recent move, I decided to make a state ornament.  This was one of my favorite projects. Here's how to make your own:

Materials:
Naked Ornament- in store at Michael's. star shape here. lots of shapes here.
State Template (google image search your state and then printed it in a 3*5 size)
Craft Paint (in at least one color, 2nd color optional)
Painters Tape
some affiliate links included

First, tape off your ornament and paint it.  I did 2 coats.
Really, couldn't I have stopped here?!  I sort of want an entire tree of these.

Second, using your template, cut your foam into your state's shape

Third (once your paint is dry), adhere your foam state onto it.

Repeat on other side.  For the 2nd side I thought I'd try stripes.

And the final result:

Done!  I think these would make adorable gifts, don't you? If you were inspired, please consider pinning this project.

We close on our house a week from tomorrow so if I'm quiet over the next couple of weeks, that's why. So exciting!

Merry Christmas friends!
