So that you have them all in one place here are the 2024 gift guides: Gift ideas for him, Gift ideas for her, Gift ideas for boys, Gift ideas for tween girls, Gift ideas for teen boys, gift ideas for teen girls, Gift ideas for little boys, Gift ideas for little girls, Gift ideas for families, and a bonus stocking stuffer gift guide! I spend a lot of time curating these and really hope you find them helpful! I also pride myself on choosing fun but practical gifts that fit a variety of budgets. Here goes:
I love a good family gift- sometimes distance makes it hard to shop for individual family members but a good gift everyone can enjoy is a fun way to still get into the gift giving spirit but make it easier (and sometimes lower costs). Here are a few things we have and would recommend or would love to have. ;) If you're interested in this post, you may also want to check out the 2023 Gift Guide for Families!
Big Blanket Co Original Blanket in Stretch Forest. $179. My sister gifted us one of these 10' x 10' blankets and it is so fun to be able to all cuddle under a massive throw. It's also incredibly soft (they say it's the yoga pants of blankets) and has a good weight to it. Highly recommend!
Mini Projector with wifi and Bluetooth. $109 (there's a $20 off coupon at the time of this writing!). We love our outdoor movies and our projector (linked last year) but I love that this one is more portable. Let the family outdoor movie nights begin!
Questions for Humans: Parents and Kids Conversation Cards. $13. Ditch the phone at the table and in the car, and talk to humans instead! We love a good conversation starter- they always lead to memory sharing, funny anecdotes and genuine connection! This would also make a great stocking stuffer!
Escape Room Gift Card (this printable is $3.58). This was on our list. Escape rooms are so fun but surprisingly (to me, anyway) expensive. I love the thought of gifting a fun experience vs. more stuff to manage. You'll need to find an escape room in your area but this cute printable might make a better presentation that the establishment.
Deep Roots Family Devotional. $12.34. I love gifting a something to read and something that encourages spiritual growth? Even better! This family devotional has amazing reviews. We don't have it but it's on the list!
My not-so-little guy always informs these guides. His love of gaming, reading, and technology are second to none! I could've added so much more here but stopped at some of my fave finds. Prices start at just $9!
Official Andymation DIY Flip Book Starter Kit $36.00. Dax loves this and I love that there's not a screen involved. Ha. If you have a creative kid, he'll love this!
light up keyboard and mouse $31.00. Our new computer came with a light up keyboard and you know what else lit up? Dax. ha. He loves it!
black Crocs $44.99. These are still a thing. Dax lives in his.
blue video game creator $85.00. How cool is this?! If your kid likes to code, this will be a fun way to encourage that hobby.
gray bed tent $114.99 This may be too niche but does anyone else's kid LOVE to be covered? Dax makes anything and everything a nook. I love that this one is a masculine alternative to a canopy.
human-shaped magnets $9.00 Dax and most of his buddies have these- Nadia even bummed a few off of him. They're so fun and they keep them on their lockers!
Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior book set $25.00. I love that this set combines gaming with reading- in fact if you have a gamer who's not a big reader, it may be just what he needs!
Air Up water bottle $35.00 Hear me out. This seems dumb. But Dax loves it and swears the flavor pods make the water taste different- it's really just tricking your senses. Plus most water bottle crazes are geared toward girls. This one's for the boys. ;) (not really- it's for anyone and it comes in stainless steel and also pink but you get my drift).
magnetic dart game $22.99. When I get back to designing the playroom this may make an appearance. I love that you don't need floorspace for it.

This is one of my favorite guides! Pre-teen girls are so fun and still at the age when a lot of what they want is cute and affordable so you can really fill those carts. ;) This guide includes the usual suspects- hello Lululemon and Kendra Scott- but also some fun finds like this Taylor Swift Eras tour makeup bag. Prices start at just $7.98. Check out this year's gift guide for tween girls (and my most viral gift guide- this past one for preteen girls).
I had so much fun researching and brainstorming these gift ideas for men and gift ideas for women. Whether he's on a health journey or into mixed drinks and whether she's into design or a traveler, there's something for everyone. Prices start at just $8 and these ideas can definitely be mixed and matched (male or female- don't we all find Oura rings fascinating?!). Check out the Pretty Real 2024 gift guide for men and gift guide for women here:
I've skipped this demographic for the past several years as I've focused on the age ranges of my kids. But my dear friend (and new assistant! eek!) Jami, is fostering to adopt precious twins who are 5 and she helped me curate these amazing finds. If you need ideas for gift ideas your littles will LOVE that are pretty to look at without being sad and boring for your kids (ha!), look no further! Here is the 2024 gift guide for little boys and the 2024 gift guide for little girls! Oh and I should add that obviously there are things on both lists that both girls and boys would love. Here ya go:
Teens and tweens are my fave to shop for. Full disclosure- we don't generally buy the kids many toys or nice-to-haves outside of their birthdays and holidays so I really spoil my kids at Christmas! I love to check off most of their wish list, although my oldest gives me a run for my money- quite literally. As for the gift guides, I spend a lot of time researching, consulting with the girls and formatting a fun gift guide to get your wheels turning. I focus on more than just aesthetics and aspirational items to include real life stuff your teen will love. And while I don't have a teen son just yet- don't even think about growing up, Dax- I think you'll love some of the fun ideas for boys. Here it is: The 2024 gift guide full of fun and unique ideas for teen girls and teen boys. Let's go!
Gold Filled Beaded Bow Bracelet. $34. You should know this sweet bracelet is on my list too. Love that it's stackable with others and that sweet bow? c'mon!
Animals Ears Fleece Throw Blanket. $59. If you have a teen, you know that though they're desperately trying to grow up, there's that side who just wants a blankie. Genevieve basically sleeps in a nest of cozy blankets and I'm not mad at it. She prefers the white version of this but I love the teddy bear vibes of the brown one.
Iridescent Round Diffuser. $15. How fun is this diffuser? Whether you're into the health benefits or a skeptic, it's adorable and a safe alternative to a candle. PS- we have this one and also love it!
Wavy Talk Ionic Hair Dryer. $79.99. The girls have been asking to level up our $20 hair dryer and this one has amazing reviews, is curly girl approved, and it comes in 4 great colors. If Santa brings us this one, I'll report back!
Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm. $24. Genevieve swears by this brand. It comes in 9 colors- easy to find one that will flatter your girl!
Autofocus Digital Camera. $49 (before clipping a 50% off coupon!). I love the color of this one and its low price. The reviews are overwhelmingly positive. I'm also considering this one- a little pricier but even stronger reviews.
Birdie Personal Safety Alarm. $29.95. Is it just mine or are your teens into self defense? Genevieve takes Jiujitsu and Nadia has been begging for a self defense kit for months. These girls aren't messin around. I love this as a gift or stocking stuffer for a teen- especially once they start driving or head off to college.
Candle Warmer Lamp. $35. True story- one of my daughter's friends sneaks LIT candles in her room. Um no. The girls have always asked for candles and I've always said no- too dangerous. This warmer is the perfect solution. Candles last longer and are just as fragrant, it looks great on her nightstand, and there's no open flame to deal with. Genevieve loved hers so much (she has this one), that I couldn't wait until Christmas to get Nadia this one.
Over the Door Mirrored Jewelry Organizer. $129, before a $20 off coupon. I can't decided if I want to get the girls one of these or if I want it for myself. It's such a great storage solution, pretty, and comes with an LED light. It can be hung over the door or mounted on a wall.
Must Have Scent Discovery Kit $25. Take advantage of the fact that they finally want to smell good. Love the idea of sampling a variety of scents!
Essentials Logo Hoodie. $120. Essentials hoodies are seriously trending at my daughter's high school. Definitely spendy but if he's been asking for one, now is the time.
Wireless Gaming Headset. $91.99. If you have a gamer, level up his headset. This one has a 60 hour battery life (although is that a good thing or a bad thing? ha)
Faux Fur Throw. $53.99. Don't let them fool you- the boys love a cozy blankie just as much as the girls do. If you're feeling splurgy, nothing beats the Lola blanket (use KELSI for 40% off!) but this one seems super cozy, I love the rich black color, and the price is right.
Gaming Controller for iPhone. $99.99. Turn a phone into a gaming console. Only 18 in stock! Enough said.
Bomb- The Race to Build and Steal the World's Most Dangerous Weapon. $15.80. "This is pulse pounding history." For this suggestion I thought of future Dax. He loves to read and loves history and I can easily imagine16 year old Dax being very into this historical nonfiction. Not to mention it topped many 'young adult reads' lists.
Magnetic Phone Stand. $39.99 before a 20% off coupon and iPhone Wallet with MagSafe. $59.99 Teen boys are tough to shop for but phone accessories are always a safe bet.
Nike Fleece Joggers. $60. These come in a bunch of colors and are comfy. Plus they're stylish- which he cares about even if he's not saying it aloud. ;)
Dome Dock (the original hat rack). $19. I love it when storage looks good- he can show off his cap collection without cluttering a surface. genius. Pair it with a baseball cap from his fave team.
Lined Crocks. $39. Yes these are still in. sigh.

Y'all have to check out the Black Friday Deals at Walmart! So many of their best sellers are on deal and the discounts are steep. If you have a hostess to buy for (or if you are the hostess), there are some great buys worth snagging. That said, every category has amazing deals so definitely take the time to peruse it for yourself. The deals end on 11/17 so don't wait- Oh and you can get 50% off a Walmart+ membership this week as well. We use ours constantly to save on grocery delivery, shipping, and even gas. Highly recommend! Here are some of the deals I snagged and a few more I wanted to share with you. What are you shopping for?
Thank you Walmart for sponsoring this post! All opinions are my own.
I don't know why but fall = sweatpants. Is it just me? I want to be warm and cozy as the temps drop and while I could say this only applies to lounging at home, I'd be lying. From my kids' sporting events to running errands - I want to be comfy. The problem is no matter how hard I try to convince myself that comfort is the priority, I still want to look put together. I recently discovered the secret. And it's so so simple. Just add a trench. That's it. You immediately look more pulled together, regardless of what's underneath. I love the outerwear at Walmart right now- I have several jackets from Walmart and the quality for the price can't be beat! Take a look at how a trench elevates these casual outfits:

Do you dress up for Halloween? Once I started, I couldn't stop! I usually go trick-or-treating with the kids but whether you're walking your kiddos around the neighborhood or handing out candy at your door, it feels so much more festive if you're in costume. This year I'm not going all out but decided to add leggings and a costume accessory kit to the softest most comfy sweatshirt I'd purchased from Walmart...times 3! It's really the best type of costume because it's cute, cozy, and you can wear it again (without the antlers). Whenever I've created semi-DIY costumes, I've always shopped Walmart fashion for basics and accessories. Keep reading to see the 3 fun costumes I created with the $11 sweatshirt you absolutely need in your life plus butter-y leggings you won't want to take off- all from Walmart.
The "Base:"
For each costume, I started with a cozy sweatshirt and leggings. It's so soft, a great length (I'm tall so it will be longer on most of you), and comes in 4 great colors. I've worn it nonstop since I got it a couple of weeks ago. At just $11.98, I can't believe it's not sold out yet (but it's selling out in some sizes so grab it while you can)! The leggings come in a bunch of colors and the price can't be beat. They're comfortable, soft, and slimming and honestly rival a brand's we all know and love (rhymes with shmulu shlemon. haha). SIZING NOTE: I sized up in the sweatshirt. I always size up in leggings and did the same here, so I'd say order whatever size you normally wear when it comes to leggings.
Costume 1: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
I loved (LOVE) 80s fashion. This easy DIY 80's girl costume is so fun. The accessory kit is adorable and an easy way to 'dress up,' without a lot of hassle. I also added leg warmers, and bright makeup for a rad costume.
Oversized Gray Sweatshirt | Pink Butterluxe Leggings | 80s Costume Accessory Kit | Pink Legwarmers | Blush Pink sneakers
Look 2: Here, Kitty Kitty
You won't find an easier black cat costume- the leopard flats (shared at the end in the collage) didn't arrive in time, but paired with those, it's the cutest outfit for Halloween or for everyday. You can't tell in the image, but the leggings have a matte sheen to them. I love them!
Oversized Black Sweatshirt | Black Matte Faux Leather Butterluxe Leggings | Black Cat Costume Accessory Kit | String Bow Cheetah Ballet Flats
Costume 3: Enchanting Doe
Lastly, a fun Deer Costume- guys, I can't with this floral crown. So so pretty! And when I tell you I've worn this set (without the makeup/accessories obvi) numerous times in the past couple of weeks, I'm not lying. It's just so cozy and so my colors.
Oversized Taupe Sweatshirt | Brown Butterluxe Leggings | Deer Costume Accessory Kit | Woodland Fairy Headband | Suede Platform Clog Slippers
Which look is your favorite? I'm team "dress up," but either way, I HIGHLY recommend the comfy sweatshirt and leggings! You'll thank me. I mean it.

Sweet Nadia Sophie turned 13 last week and her request was a sleepover set up like Genevieve's 13th- but make it glam cowgirl. Challenge accepted! I used Genevieve's party as a template but swapped the whimsical canopies for a huge DIY Fringe garland, added lots of shimmer and disco balls, and lots of little themed details! Guys, this is my happy place. At the end I'll share a note about DIYing this set up plus the activities the girls enjoyed but let's start with some DIYs and details to look for in this fun glam cowgirl 13th birthday sleepover:
Have you heard of 'the 3rd piece?' Rather than stopping at jeans and a tee, layer on a unique jacket or bag (your basic black purse doesn't count!) to immediately look more polished. Walmart's fall fashion is perfect for this! They have so many cute jackets ringing in at under $40. You can see here that I kept my outfit the same and simply added a different jacket to create 3 entirely fresh looks. Which is your fave?!
We started this entry renovation in January. January! It's been slow moving- especially after tacking on a collaboration with Pella for our new front door. It's ironic that it was an afterthought to reach out to them considering the door completely MAKES the entry! We've refreshed the entry a couple of times but mistakenly focused on aesthetics rather than function. Fast forward and now it's beautiful and functional. Keep reading to see how we added beauty and function to our small entryway.
Thank you for Walmart for sponsoring this post.
Who remembers my kids' DIY desk and homework nook? Yeah we kind of forgot about it too. ha. We'd let it get pre-tty messy and the chairs, though I loved them, never fit under the desk. Over time, the arms got damaged plus they stuck out a bit far into the walkway. It only took me 4 years to come across a pair of dining chairs I loved, that fit the look, and the budget! Here are our new chairs plus others from Walmart. I'm also sharing some you-won't-believe-the-price decor finds I have and love and I put together a design board for dining room inspiration- all from Walmart! Let's Go!

I spent some time with my niece recently and she has two cuties going back to school soon. I'm pushing aside the fact that I'm a great-aunt which is like a stone's throw from a grandma, and focusing on blessing my niece, who's a single mama, with back to school clothes for her kiddos. I have my crew to outfit too so I immediately shopped on Walmart for their affordable prices! My money goes so much further at Walmart and the style and quality are on point. Here's most of what I purchased!
Just as I was about to pull the trigger on a pricey rug for the family room, I had an aha moment. It was 'Just how much lipstick are you gonna slap on this pig?' This would've been my 4th rug intended to hide ugly carpet, and while the price of a rug doesn't compare to the price of wall to wall carpet, it still felt like throwing good money after bad. So I talked to Joe, looked at the budget, and pulled out the rug samples we'd ordered from Home Depot back in June 2023. Depending on the price, we were ready to do this!

I've been refreshing the patio this spring and the next step was to replace or refinish the table. I decided to save my pennies and refinish it which made it real easy to justify buying new chairs ;). I loved our old ones but 2 of the 6 had broken and we need at least 5. When these chairs went on sale at Walmart, I jumped on it. I admit they're bigger than I thought they'd be- they'd make awesome front porch chairs- but I love them. They're so comfortable and well priced. I love Better Homes and Gardens at Walmart for outdoor furniture and entertaining. The style and price can't be beat. Here's a close up of our new chairs and a few more budget-friendly patio finds on rollback that are still in stock!
Our Teak table had seen better days. I was so tempted to replace it (I had my eyes on this one), but figured if I could bring it back to life, I'd reward myself with new chairs. Refinishing the teak table wasn't very difficult at all!
Supply List:
Watco teak oil + Stain in flagstone
Step by Step Instructions:
First, I cleaned the table with a cloth and a tiny bit of dish soap
Next, I sanded the table
I waited until I sanded it to see if I wanted to use teak oil on its own, or one tinted with a stain. Here's what it looked like after sanding:
After I allowed the table to dry thoroughly, I soaked the staining cloth and wiped in the direction of the grain while feathering the ends so there wasn't a clear line of demarcation where one section ended and the other began.
Per the instructions on the can, I waited 30 minutes and then wiped it off.
If I had it to do over again, I think I'd use a brush for more even coverage, and sand a bit more. But it is a vast improvement from where we started! Tomorrow I'll share it with the new chairs and umbrella. It feels like an oasis!

Do you ever wake up with an urge to paint? I can't explain it- some days I just have an itch to paint that won't go away! And then there's the other end of the spectrum; times I procrastinate out of fear of making the wrong choice. This was the case with the entry. I told myself I was waiting for our door to arrive to choose a paint color, but once it arrived, I still hadn't moved forward. That all ended this week when I woke up and thought 'Enough is enough. I'm choosing a paint color TODAY.' But there was a problem. I needed a few supplies and I really didn't want to add a trip to a home improvement store to my day. But my seize the day energy could not be denied. Walmart makes it so easy to get what you want or need now. I was able to order a few more painting supplies on Walmart for same day delivery. A few hours later, I was painting. Seize the day! I rounded up a few paint supplies I ordered or use regularly that were available as soon as same day in my area. (Heads up: delivery speed varies by region so make sure to slide the 'fulfillment speed' bar when you search to filter results).
tough canvas drop cloth | paint roller (love the wood handle!) | Scotch painter's tape | Delicate Frog tape (perfect for painting around wallpaper)
The next time you get the urge to paint and need supplies, grab them on Walmart! Did I choose the color you voted for? (This one is #3 from the reel!)
Father's Day is ONE week from today! If you still need an idea, I've got you! These are all quick ship, minus one product from a small business but if you order today, it should still make it! We have most of these items or they're on my list for Joe. Either way, I only recommend things we love or things we'd love to have! Here are some fun quick ship father's day gift ideas he'll love!

I initially grabbed this shorts set for this post and then immediately grabbed it in yellow. I've worn both so often (both as a regular outfit and as a swimsuit coverup) that I thought it would be fun to show you all the colors styled with different swimsuits. Matching sets are so easy, yet still feel stylish and put together. I also have always preferred shorts to a dress, as a cover up and since these come in such fun colors, they match all my swimsuits perfectly! And speaking of swimsuits, these three are all under $30 and have the cutest details! I continue to be super impressed with Walmart fashion- both style, value, and quality! Let me know which look is your favorite!

Last year the girls and I wore Walmart Fashion for the 4th of July but by the time I shared, it was nearly all sold out. I learned my lesson and am sharing early this year. And it's a good thing because it's ALL SO GOOD. I know I'm yelling but I can't believe the style and quality for the price! I've really been digging the Scoop and Free Assembly line but the Time & Tru shorts set is the literal cutest and I want it in every color! Here are my picks for Memorial day and/or the 4th of July. Oh and if you're a Walmart+ member, these items ship SO quickly. I'd love to know, which look is your fave?

Walmart does it again! The last time I worked with Walmart, I grabbed a shorts set (and here) I didn't intend to share. It just felt like a great versatile outfit to have on hand for summer. So when Walmart contacted me to work together again, I knew exactly what I'd feature- this pretty linen blend shorts set styled 3 ways. I'm picturing it for work, date night, vacation, or a school function- it's appropriate for so many occasions. I may need to grab the shorts in black too! I've felt like Walmart fashion is underrated for a long time, but they continue to step up their game. Walmart is often the first place I look when I need something - especially when I want to stretch the budget! I also want to point out that this set is Time & Tru which tends to stay in stock a little longer than Free Assembly and Scoop (other Walmart exclusive brands). Anyway, take a look and tell me- which look is your favorite?
Mother's Day is a fun holiday to buy for in my opinion! I love a self care gift (and am the worst at purchasing them for myself) and feminine gifts are my jam too. I've rounded up a handful of Mother's Day gift ideas for you, your mom, sister, mother figure, mother-in-law, or any mom you want to honor and spoil on Mother's Day. Or go ahead and forward to your husband. wink wink. Starting at just $22, there's something for everyone!
Thank you Walmart for sponsoring this post. And thank you for supporting the brands that make Pretty Real possible.
I've been searching for vacation dresses for Joe's and my anniversary trip this June and I feel like I just hit the dress lottery with the recent Walmart fashion drops. I've said it before and I'll say it again- don't sleep on Walmart fashion! It's fresh, fun, and super affordable. Oh and somehow they manage to pull off quality too! The pieces I've purchased over the past several years have worn and washed well. Here are the gorgeous budget-friendly vacation and summer dresses I found.
I love to fill an Easter basket! And honestly now that the kids are a little older I love buying fun (and often consumable) goodies for them to enjoy. Add to that lots of activities - water balloons, water guns, slime, Lego kits, etc- and it makes for a fun day. Full disclosure though, I lost my mind and spent way too much on an airup bottle for Dax, so he won't be getting much on this list. ha! Here are my curated Easter Basket Gift ideas for boys and girls around the ages of 7-15! Hope it inspires you! Oh and everything ships super quickly!
Joe has had his office chair for about 6 months now and I thought it was a good time for a review plus I rounded up a bunch of other luxe options starting at $137! Here's the good and the bad about the gorgeous Pottery Barn Masterson Velvet Swivel Office Desk Chair (PS it's on SERIOUS sale right now!):

The kids' bathroom floor was peeling up and water was getting under the linoleum. It was one of those nagging 'to-do's' that I needed to...well, do. Luckily Chris Loves Julia released a new colorway of their floor pop tiles, which was the motivation I needed. I ordered them immediately and added the project to the docket. I'll cut to the chase and say I loved working with these tiles and definitely recommend them but here are a few things you should know!

After Christmas, the spring fever hits hard. I want to wear pastels. I want to travel. I want an entirely fresh wardrobe. Luckily Walmart is just a click away and I can make these dreams come true. Fine, I don't totally replace my wardrobe, but at these prices, it's tempting! I shopped on Walmart to grab a few looks for our upcoming winter break, church (also would be perfect for work) and general spring things. I can't wait for you to see how far $40 gets you. Oh and I should add that I've been a fan of Walmart fashion for long enough that I can vouch for the quality. Despite the low prices, it wears and washes well. Here's what I grabbed:
I cannot believe this jumpsuit is $36. It's so cute and structured yet still comfortable. I paired it with flat espadrilles but I can't wait to dress it up with wedges.
If you don't like getting naked to go to the bathroom, here's the dress version. haha. 3 words: IT. HAS. POCKETS.
This dress sold out SO fast last year- it's back and in multiple colors! I love me a flirty cutout. Right after my pedicure next, week, I'll pair it with last year's version of these.
Hello 90s with the baby tee and denim skirt. I'm not mad at it though. I sized down in this skirt, FYI. It has some stretch to it.
I love this pastel on pastel look. The pants are SO GOOD and under $30!
I love this feminine striped sweater with the slightest ruffle sleeve. It looks like ....rhymes with K Shoe. ;) I can't believe its price!
