I can't believe it's party week! I'm a little nervous that my to-do list is still fairly long...and it's dawning on me that other than Nadia's circus party, this one might be the most elaborate one I've thrown. How did that happen?! I was so proud to plan a simple 2nd birthday party for Genevieve with a few creative touches; how did I let myself go crazy with this one [she asks ruefully]?! I'm also really excited though. I've been crafting my little heart out and there will be lots of cute little details to share with you in the coming weeks! In the meantime, feast your eyes on this adorable invitation.
As I mentioned in yesterday's post, I'll be a regular contributor on Live the Fancy Life over the next several months! Today I'm discussing stylish workout wear (preview below). You can see the full post from today here.
I also contribute regularly to Tall Snob and Tall Clothing Mall (as mentioned here), as well as write a weekly newsletter highlighting trends, creating looks/outfits, and notifying our readers of sales and discounts. Even if you're not tall, there's plenty of inspiration + most styles featured come in regular sizes. Click here or here to subscribe!

A while ago I took 4 or 5 photos of myself in various outfits for a "What I wore" series. But then I realized I had to get dressed, put makeup on, AND clean (enough to take a photo without mad chaos looming in the background) even when I wasn't going anywhere...and I thought, this just isn't worth it. [insert winky face here]. Addthe fact that my clothes are mostly thrifted, from Target, Old Navy, or Gap...and well it's just not that interesting. But I've been trying to do clothing reviews over on Tall Snob any time I buy a tall clothing item. I know I haven't shared my work over on Tall Snob in a while but I had fun with this post--which brought back the "What I Wore" series that never happened. I love cute lounge wear and this pair of pants fit the bill! The best part--you can cut them to any length you desire. I couldn't wait to review them and try dressing them up for summer and fall. Here's the final product.
um, pear shaped much? Thuttocks notwithstanding, I love these pants! I can totally wear them around the house with a tee or dress them up when going out. Check out the full review (of the pants and denim jacket--both available in "regular" sizes) here.
Ciao!
First of all- is "quickie" inherently a sexy word? Or did I just make it that in my mind? Clearly I don't mean it that way for this post. It's kale...quickly as well as a short and quick post. I tried kale chips a while ago and liked them. But Joe called them smelly chips and I quickly became too lazy to make them. Fast forward a year (or so?) and I've made them 3 times this week.
Over the last couple of years Joe has gotten very active (me not so much but that's another topic for another post). And while I'm not the most active or athletic mama I know, as a kid up through my early adult years, I was. As a kid we went on long bike rides, camped, and constantly had picnics (complete with kickball) at the lake. My dad was a sports fanatic so we'd play tennis, basketball, softball, etc. So when Joe declared that he wanted us to be an "active" family, I was all about it. Did I realize at the time, that active = sleeping in a tent with two little animals (known as Genevieve and Nadia) + waking up with the sunrise at 5:00 am? No...no, I didn't. But it's all good. We survived. Wanna know how?
