I took a stroll through the new Vintage, Antiques, and Collectibles shop on Candia Road yesterday. Can I just say I loved that place? The prices weren't my kind of prices (i.e. dirt cheap) but if you're looking for "real" antique pieces, original home décor, or even party or kid space centerpieces, this place is a fantastic place to start. And in addition there are smaller less expensive items (like old milk bottles and Coke bottles for instance) that every vintage lover can enjoy.
Is anyone else a design schizo? Or am I alone? I have SUCH a hard time decorating because my tastes seem to conflict. I love contemporary. But I love vintage. I love bright colors, but I love the soothing feel of neutrals. I want a house that is current without feeling trendy, clean without feeling sterile, eclectic, but not random, has that "collected over time" look, yet comes across as intentional.
A little background on the wall: I've been gathering items for it since before Nadia was born--just a frame here and there. I also used several frames from Genevieve's nursery. As is the case for most of my projects I wanted to keep it low budget. All of the frames were really inexpensive. And even better--all of the prints in the room were FREE. Clearly, I'm pretty excited about that.
As I've stated in previous Minnie Mouse Party posts, my goal was to keep this party simple and inexpensive (but still cute of course!) so I made Genevieve's invitation myself. Only a few short months later and I already feel like I could do better, but for my first homemade (digital) invitation, I thought it came out pretty well.
And the winner is: ASHLEY WHEELER.
Maybe you can choose thank you notes for gifts you'll get for that sweet little...I mean, BIG girl you had! Congratulations Ashley. I'll contact you shortly with details! {updated 4/20/13. Giveaway closed}I'm so excited to host our very first giveaway! About a month ago we reached 100 likes on Taste{Full}'s Facebook page.
To celebrate, we are offering ONE lucky winner a chance to win TWO sets of personalized Note Cards from Paige Simple. I've written about these cards before and ordered a set as a gift. These would make a great add on gift to gorgeous flowers for Mother's Day--why not choose one for yourself and one for mom?! I love how high quality they are. I love the fun color combos, the preppy stitched designs, and of course the personalization!
I've had bad luck with DIY projects lately.
First there was this:
Apparently I was so focused on making sure the chevron pattern went the right way (horizontal) that I forgot to flip the letter when I traced. This was my instagram picture with the caption "this DIY couldn't have been simpler... "
If you know me in real life you know how much I heart tulle. Love it. Can't get enough. Well today I'm over on Tall Snob with my interpretation of this awesome pin:

I'm JUST getting to it after a day of headaches + nap skippers + baby crying for no apparent reason + solo bedtime (daddy at a commitment after work) + computer issues. Definitely ready to call it a night. Sorry for whining. But you still love me right?
Anyway, read the post here (and it doesn't include any whining; promise).
Happy Twirling!
Because I'm drooling...I'm talking heart palpitating for Jonathan Adler for JCPenney. Happy Chic? YES PLEASE.

I'm sorry I've been MIA lately! I have a handful of posts started but life has been so busy lately. Today is no different; I needed to finish up a post for Tall Snob which I did. I've never publicly discussed my modeling career experience so if you're at all interested in hearing about it, head over to Tall Snob. And I promise I'll be back soon with Genevieve Room posts, Model Home Decor, A before and after chair re-do, and more!
Stay tuned...
