So after this post where I duped you into thinking I had a 6 pack after two kids, I came up with a series for Taste{Full}.  I don't typically do series because I don't blog often enough (sad, because I love blogging) to keep up with them.  But I'm going to attempt a monthly series where I share something personal. or something real.  or something close to my heart. or some fatal flaw.  Or all of the above.  So this week here's my admission:

I'm excited to share my latest DIY with you! I haven't had much time to blog let alone DIY, but I did manage to squeeze in a DIY chalkboard from an old mirror.  You know those times when you're not looking to buy anything and you see everything?!  Well a month or so ago was the complete opposite.  It was early in the month (i.e. there was still cash in the envelopes) and I escaped, er, I mean left home for an entire afternoon and visited several thrift and antique stores.  And I got nothing but this vintage necklace.  Which I love.  But still.

After posting red, white, and blue garb for little girls, I received this in a comment: "would be so excited to see what you would come up with for a boy..."  Challenge accepted!  I didn't originally plan on posting for little guys since 1) I don't have one and 2) I'm lazy.  But I thought it would be fun to make believe I had a little boy to dress.  And it was.  I know everyone says it's harder to find stuff for girls and I totally agree but this exercise didn't prove that at all. I was able to easily stop at 9 pieces for a girl but just couldn't stop there for boys! Without even visiting every site on my list I found such adorable and stylish little guy wear.  Perhaps it was just the power of pent up shopping from all these years dressing myself and two girls (Joe doesn't let me dress him anymore.  Boo right?!), but for some reason it was so fun.  Here are my top picks for the little fella in your life:

How cute are these little looks?  I love that they are mix and matchable.  Matchable is definitely a word by the way.  I seriously can't choose between them.  I love the cool T-s coupled with cargo shorts...or the dobby shirt with the chambray shorts...but of course if I had a son I'd love to dress him like Joe which would mean a solid blue polo with the plaid cargo shorts.  Clearly I'm not decisive when it comes to cute kids clothing!

In the first post I included a couple (ok, 6) pictures of the girls on the 4th of July. These cute little tanks pictured below are what the girls would have worn on Independence Day had my mom not purchased the little romper and dress you saw in that post.  And get this--I paid only $3.88 for them at Wal-Mart.  Not the trendiest place (ok, that's the understatement of the century), but every once in a while they come through.
I know the 4th of July seems so far away but I'm amazed at how fast May is flying by.  I feel like summer is going to slip right through my fingers! 

Originally I planned to post some fun red, white, and blue items for adults.  It all started with this pair of wedges.  And then as usual, the children hijacked my will, emotions, and livelihood and I decided to do a post about kids instead.  I'm not sure why I'm surprised that shopping for them is much more fun than shopping for myself.  But it is. Here are a few fun 4th of July looks for your cutie. Oh and I may or may not have thrown in a few gratuitous photos of my cuties on the 4th of July. 

I promised in this post that I'd share a chair re-do with you.  Then I almost decided against sharing because it's really no big deal.  But I've been feeling a bit blah about blogging lately and have had a hard time coming up with topics.  It's rare that I have to "come up with" topics--usually they just come to me or I'm working on something that I can't wait to share (like this).  Anywhoo, for whatever reason I'm in a lull.  So that, coupled with the fact that recovering chairs might be something on your list and not exactly NBD, I decided to give you a look.  Oh and for real- who doesn't love a before and after?!  Bear in mind that this isn't a tutorial or anything.  Just a little look (and maybe motivation?) for ya.  So here's my chair re-do:
