I finally finished Nadia's month by month book. I always post my projects when I finish them. And not just because of the coupon I get for doing so. I promise. I do it because:
When planning Genevieve's gallery wall I knew I wanted to use an elephant hook. I can't even remember where I first saw the cute little object; I just know I loved it. It didn't take long to find it at anthropologie. And to mourn over its price tag. And to justify paying said price. And to google "anthropologie free shipping coupon code," because no way am I going to pay shipping on this already overpriced object." But, when I couldn't find a coupon I began to question my earlier justification. I searched "elephant hook" just in case and then this happened:
I've mentioned Live the Fancy Life too many times to count. Jessica and I have become the best of e-friends and I had the pleasure and honor of being interviewed by her for her "Fancy Mama" series. I was honored to be in the company of some amazing ladies for this series. Let me tell you it's scary putting yourself out there! I was nervous to be honest but Jessica was super encouraging and said to be myself. And myself I was. ;) Swing by to hear me talk about marriage, parenting, my biggest parenting struggle, and my mama toolbox. And while you're there browse for awesome party inspiration, 'live fancy' tools and tricks, cool and modern finds, and more.
PS- Jessica, thanks so much for taking the time to get to know me and "introduce" me to your readers! Your work is an inspiration and I too appreciate our friendship!
Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Google reader is going away. I only realized that through lots of other bloggers' complaints. Just like a large portion of my life, my blog reading is a bit unorganized and not at all methodical. I am following various blogs in various readers. I get some emailed to me. I don't follow some that I love and then just randomly remember to physically type the address into my browser. It's a mess. So I decided to narrow it down to Bloglovin + email. I hate my email all clogged up with blogs (and that impending doom feeling of seeing 700 emails and knowing that 1/3 of them are blog posts, 1/3 are retailers trying to sell me something, and only 1/3 of them are legit emails that I actually need). So eventually I will probably get rid of e-mail blogs also. But in the meantime I'll stick with this strategy since it seems less overwhelming. Do you want to join me? If so...
I am a little obsessed with felt. It's pretty. It's cheap. Need I say more? First I made a felt bow. It was harder than it seemed and I certainly didn't want to take the time to blog it. But until the clip on it stopped being springy, both Nadia and Genevieve did wear it often! See evidence below:
Genevieve with one of our favorite teens on a gorgeous fall day in October. And Nadia playing in the back yard 10 days before Christmas (with no coat! and here we are a week before Easter and it's snowing. What's wrong with this picture)? And then I made this.
Genevieve's personalized wooden name came in! It was totally motivation to get started on her gallery wall. I've been meaning to get to it for some time. Unlike many projects where I have to save the dough to get the items to complete them, I already have nearly everything I need. So basically I was just flat out procrastinating. I've noticed that when I get to a step in a project I'm unsure about, I practice the fine art of "avoidance," until something jolts me out of it!
The moment you've all been waiting for...okay, just kidding. It's been forever since I shared the first glimpse of Genevieve's Modern Minnie Mouse Party and I thought it high time I shared the rest of the party with you. After the numerous posts on Nadia's Party, I wanted to keep this short and sweet and only do a couple of posts. It should have been a bit easier considering this was a smaller low budget "family only" party versus the production that Nadia's party sort of accidentally turned out to be. ;) Buuuut...it's me. So I have to add a third post of party people and the invitation process. I can't help it; I'm long winded! Here's a look at the decor and favor table.
I'm over on Tall Snob today with some fun and fresh coral picks. And I maybe white lied in the title. All items except for one are under $60. I'll let you guess which one item that is. In the meantime feast your eyes on this coral eye candy.

For sources head over to Tall Snob and check out the full post. Prices start at just $19. All items are available in "regular" sizes. (Oh the beauty of being of average height. I envy you. I really do).
Which is your favorite? I LOVE the coral print jeans and the academy ponte blazer. Oh and if I hadn't just had a baby (you know-- a short 18 months ago), I'd be all over that tank dress!
Happy coral crushing!
