Toddler Room Progress: The Gallery Wall.
8:46 AM
Genevieve's personalized wooden name came in! It was totally motivation to get started on her gallery wall. I've been meaning to get to it for some time. Unlike many projects where I have to save the dough to get the items to complete them, I already have nearly everything I need. So basically I was just flat out procrastinating. I've noticed that when I get to a step in a project I'm unsure about, I practice the fine art of "avoidance," until something jolts me out of it!

I literally woke up Monday morning trying to convince myself to work on it. And then it was like fate. I happened upon this post over on Live the Fancy Life which was just what I needed to get my butt in gear and get started on the wall. After reading my blog buddy Jessica's take on the process and seeing her awesome results, the wall didn't seem so scary. (Although she did such a fantastic job that I did have a moment of weakness "maybe I should just wait to get some ledges..."). Oh I can be a mess. As a side note, I'd been referring to it as a "mini gallery wall," just to avoid putting pressure on myself to make it big and amazing and unique and beautiful and magazine-ish. Apparently I'm not so easily manipulated by me. Finally, I got all my frames, photos, and objects out and started arranging them. I seriously love how it's turning out! I emailed Jessica immediately with my progress and she was so encouraging--so grateful for blog friends and inspiration! Here's a super sneak peek:
Such a sneaky angle right?! I want you to see it in all its glory but I couldn't help share a glimpse.
I love this free art!! I'll list sources in the final gallery wall post.
Nearly every object (frame, photo, etc) I'm using on the wall cost under $5. I'm really excited about keeping it budget friendly. I'll be sure to share all the details and sources (and the items I splurged on...you know there has to be at least one) when it's finished. Which I'm hoping, now that I'm out of my slump, will be within the next couple of weeks. I still need to order bigger prints (and wait for them to arrive) and get one more cute look-for-less object that I'll blog soon.
What are you procrastinating on? Do you have any gallery walls up in your home? Or are you planning any?
Happy Curating,

This is looking so pretty! I love the painted frames. Weird thing-I get your posts sent to me at like 10 p.m. I feel so bad that I haven't stopped by sooner to tell you how AWESOME you are! Can't wait to see the finished product. The wooden names are the best!
