Top 10 of 2013. - Pretty Real

Top 10 of 2013.

8:00 AM

It's been a good year! While I have SO much learning and growing to do, this year I've been a bit more consistent and serious about blogging.  It's a constant battle of what I want to do vs. what I'm realistically able to do with two little ones at home and zero childcare.  It's also a battle of taking a leap of faith vs. being comfortable.

I've been so inspired by my BBF (best blog friend) Jessica over at Live the Fancy Life, in terms of growing my blog and brand.  Before this year I thought unless I could be Young House Love I'd never be able to turn blogging into a business.  Yet I am so passionate about blogging (and the stuff I blog about--child rearing, family fashion, DIY, frugal living, and party planning to name a handful) that I dreamed of turning my passion into an income stream.  I'm only making tiny strides at this point, but through others' examples I see that it IS in fact possible.

And to that end, I have to thank YOU!  Thanks for visiting, commenting, sharing, pinning, and simply telling me (in person at times) that you "love" Taste{Full}.  Not to be dramatic but you have no idea how encouraging it is that someone is finding inspiration or entertainment in my itsy bitsy corner of the blogosphere!  So that was sort of a long winded intro to the top 10 posts of 2013. I've never looked back like this before and I was really excited to see what piqued your interest! So without further ado:

I'm glad people found this interesting because it's one of my favorite projects to date!

Sadly I still haven't finished her room! I really only have a few more tasks.  But I'm so tired of toymageddon (as the husband calls it) that I might be turning Genevieve's room into a shared space for her and Nadia to make room for a playroom. More on that later!

This was just a sneak peek. I suppose I should blog the full party!

Another favorite project. It has me wishing we had more ceiling fans in the house!

This is one of those projects that I want to do over and over again.  I love it! One day I'll use it as a photo prop...and share the results of course.

I don't know how this one got so popular on Pinterest.  I DO love that peanut butter icing and I have to admit I had fun "styling" the cupcakes.

I never pinned these images because I felt weird about pinning family photos.  And as far as I can tell no one else pinned them either.  I'm gonna take a gamble and say that no one is googling "DeLangie family photo woes" so I have no idea how this post got its traffic.

Love, love, love this project and there will definitely be more in my future!

When I decided to do a Minnie party I couldn't find ANY classic red and black Minnie stuff.  Turned out to be a good thing because the lack of available products + finding a couple of cute modern parties inspired my creativity.

And the number one post from 2013 with thousands of visitors was [drum roll please]:

Of course the "traditional" party gets the most attention! I uploaded it to Catch My Party which also brought some traffic this way.  It's no secret that I'm not the biggest fan of character parties but I'm so glad to have done this one--made my little girl so happy!

Oh and just for fun: the top viewed "This is Me" Post was this one:

This is Me Thursday: Racism.
I've had some conversations since this post that could lend itself to another loooong post--some encouraging, some disappointing.  Nevertheless I was so happy that we could have a civil conversation here on Taste{Full} about such a sensitive topic.

Well that's it! Did your favorite make it?  I hope you came across a post that you missed!  Happy New Year friends! I'm SO excited for what's in store.
