I have so many thoughts on adding art to your home that I'm having trouble knowing where to start...Ironically, that's exactly how I felt about art two years ago- I barely had any art in my home. When I'd peruse art, I'd feel overwhelmed. I'd think of all of these "rules," like the art should be meaningful...it shouldn't match the room...it should move your soul. At the same time, with a limited budget, art that "moved my soul" just wasn't a helpful parameter.

This is a little late...My birthday was a couple of weeks ago actually!  But I just wore my present for the first time last night and I wanted to tell you about it.  I have a hard time spending more than $50 on anything.  I've lucked out and gotten some of my nicest boots (that retail for $150+) on sale at TJ Maxx or Marshall's for just under my weird self imposed threshold.  But I've been craving a couple of pairs of nice dark brown boots/shoots.  I happened upon these initially at AE.com.  They were on sale and I had a store credit that would have made them $55.  As luck would have it, when I finally stopped debating and went to purchase them (you know--for my birthday!), they were sold out!  Boo!  I just couldn't justify spending $100 on this pair of shoes (to be clear, I have justified it before...I just couldn't this time ;).  Even though I wanted them.  So bad.  Then I checked Amazon.  My how I love that site.  And they were less there.  In the meantime I'd gotten some birthday money so I decided to go for it.  I wore them last night and I love them! They were so comfortable.

I guess I have Zulily on the brain.  If you're not aware of this site, it's a flash sale sight specializing in baby and kid stuff (though they often have womens clothes, intimates, and accessories as well). The deals are pretty good and the couple of times I've ordered from them, they've left me with no complaints (which I can't say about hautelook, but that's another story).  Today they have a $30 credit for $15 at Frecklebox.  Now we love personalized stuff, as we discussed here and here.  But usually I'm too cheap, as I discuss in nearly every post :) to buy the stuff, except perhaps for gifts.  Well this adorable little lunchbox which I'd never pay $30 for, would only be $15 with your zulilly purchase. Which I could totally live with.  If only Genevieve was 5!!  (oooh that means new baby would be 3 and I'd be done with diapers! OR it could mean I'd be pregnant again...this is a dangerous road to travel down so I'll stop here!) I think this would also make a great gift--unique and cute and something the parent probably wouldn't purchase on his/her own!  Go take a look see at both Zulily and Frecklebox--they have all sorts of personalized kid stuff--and let us know what you think!
