A Look at Our Loft and A Beautiful New Rug
9:50 PMI was given the Mohawk Simon Studio rug in exchange for a review. As a reminder, I only work with brands and products I think you'd love and of course all opinions are mine.
But first, a little about the loft. The loft is right at the top of our stairs and opens to a hallway leading to the bedrooms. It's our family room where we watch movies, football, and hang out. We have a massive comfy sectional in there that is perfect for lounging. My goals for this space include: playful, no-fuss, and kid friendly. While eating in bedrooms is a no-no, snacks during movie nights are a must so anything that goes into the space needs to be easy to clean. Which brings me back to the rug.
There is still much to do in this room. I initially wanted a bright almost white rug for this space to balance out that dark sectional so I'm still noodling that. Assuming the Simon Studio stays in this room, I'd want to swap out our expedit for wood shelves. I think wood would pair nicely with the motif of this rug. We also still need a coffee table or ottoman, wall art, and end tables. But considering this is phase 1, I'm pretty happy with it.
Mohawk Home has a plethora of affordable rugs to choose from (and higher end area rugs as well). You can find Mohawk Home Rugs at a variety of retailers (listed here). Also visit the Mohawk Homescapes for more inspiration. Here are some of my faves (click image for buying info):
What do you think? Do you like the rug?! Do you use area rugs over carpet? I'd love to hear from you!
