I've skipped this demographic for the past several years as I've focused on the age ranges of my kids. But my dear friend (and new assistant! eek!) Jami, is fostering to adopt precious twins who are 5 and she helped me curate these amazing finds. If you need ideas for gift ideas your littles will LOVE that are pretty to look at without being sad and boring for your kids (ha!), look no further! Here is the 2024 gift guide for little boys and the 2024 gift guide for little girls! Oh and I should add that obviously there are things on both lists that both girls and boys would love. Here ya go:
Teens and tweens are my fave to shop for. Full disclosure- we don't generally buy the kids many toys or nice-to-haves outside of their birthdays and holidays so I really spoil my kids at Christmas! I love to check off most of their wish list, although my oldest gives me a run for my money- quite literally. As for the gift guides, I spend a lot of time researching, consulting with the girls and formatting a fun gift guide to get your wheels turning. I focus on more than just aesthetics and aspirational items to include real life stuff your teen will love. And while I don't have a teen son just yet- don't even think about growing up, Dax- I think you'll love some of the fun ideas for boys. Here it is: The 2024 gift guide full of fun and unique ideas for teen girls and teen boys. Let's go!
Gold Filled Beaded Bow Bracelet. $34. You should know this sweet bracelet is on my list too. Love that it's stackable with others and that sweet bow? c'mon!
Animals Ears Fleece Throw Blanket. $59. If you have a teen, you know that though they're desperately trying to grow up, there's that side who just wants a blankie. Genevieve basically sleeps in a nest of cozy blankets and I'm not mad at it. She prefers the white version of this but I love the teddy bear vibes of the brown one.
Iridescent Round Diffuser. $15. How fun is this diffuser? Whether you're into the health benefits or a skeptic, it's adorable and a safe alternative to a candle. PS- we have this one and also love it!
Wavy Talk Ionic Hair Dryer. $79.99. The girls have been asking to level up our $20 hair dryer and this one has amazing reviews, is curly girl approved, and it comes in 4 great colors. If Santa brings us this one, I'll report back!
Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm. $24. Genevieve swears by this brand. It comes in 9 colors- easy to find one that will flatter your girl!
Autofocus Digital Camera. $49 (before clipping a 50% off coupon!). I love the color of this one and its low price. The reviews are overwhelmingly positive. I'm also considering this one- a little pricier but even stronger reviews.
Birdie Personal Safety Alarm. $29.95. Is it just mine or are your teens into self defense? Genevieve takes Jiujitsu and Nadia has been begging for a self defense kit for months. These girls aren't messin around. I love this as a gift or stocking stuffer for a teen- especially once they start driving or head off to college.
Candle Warmer Lamp. $35. True story- one of my daughter's friends sneaks LIT candles in her room. Um no. The girls have always asked for candles and I've always said no- too dangerous. This warmer is the perfect solution. Candles last longer and are just as fragrant, it looks great on her nightstand, and there's no open flame to deal with. Genevieve loved hers so much (she has this one), that I couldn't wait until Christmas to get Nadia this one.
Over the Door Mirrored Jewelry Organizer. $129, before a $20 off coupon. I can't decided if I want to get the girls one of these or if I want it for myself. It's such a great storage solution, pretty, and comes with an LED light. It can be hung over the door or mounted on a wall.
Must Have Scent Discovery Kit $25. Take advantage of the fact that they finally want to smell good. Love the idea of sampling a variety of scents!
Essentials Logo Hoodie. $120. Essentials hoodies are seriously trending at my daughter's high school. Definitely spendy but if he's been asking for one, now is the time.
Wireless Gaming Headset. $91.99. If you have a gamer, level up his headset. This one has a 60 hour battery life (although is that a good thing or a bad thing? ha)
Faux Fur Throw. $53.99. Don't let them fool you- the boys love a cozy blankie just as much as the girls do. If you're feeling splurgy, nothing beats the Lola blanket (use KELSI for 40% off!) but this one seems super cozy, I love the rich black color, and the price is right.
Gaming Controller for iPhone. $99.99. Turn a phone into a gaming console. Only 18 in stock! Enough said.
Bomb- The Race to Build and Steal the World's Most Dangerous Weapon. $15.80. "This is pulse pounding history." For this suggestion I thought of future Dax. He loves to read and loves history and I can easily imagine16 year old Dax being very into this historical nonfiction. Not to mention it topped many 'young adult reads' lists.
Magnetic Phone Stand. $39.99 before a 20% off coupon and iPhone Wallet with MagSafe. $59.99 Teen boys are tough to shop for but phone accessories are always a safe bet.
Nike Fleece Joggers. $60. These come in a bunch of colors and are comfy. Plus they're stylish- which he cares about even if he's not saying it aloud. ;)
Dome Dock (the original hat rack). $19. I love it when storage looks good- he can show off his cap collection without cluttering a surface. genius. Pair it with a baseball cap from his fave team.
Lined Crocks. $39. Yes these are still in. sigh.

I don't know why but fall = sweatpants. Is it just me? I want to be warm and cozy as the temps drop and while I could say this only applies to lounging at home, I'd be lying. From my kids' sporting events to running errands - I want to be comfy. The problem is no matter how hard I try to convince myself that comfort is the priority, I still want to look put together. I recently discovered the secret. And it's so so simple. Just add a trench. That's it. You immediately look more pulled together, regardless of what's underneath. I love the outerwear at Walmart right now- I have several jackets from Walmart and the quality for the price can't be beat! Take a look at how a trench elevates these casual outfits:

Do you dress up for Halloween? Once I started, I couldn't stop! I usually go trick-or-treating with the kids but whether you're walking your kiddos around the neighborhood or handing out candy at your door, it feels so much more festive if you're in costume. This year I'm not going all out but decided to add leggings and a costume accessory kit to the softest most comfy sweatshirt I'd purchased from Walmart...times 3! It's really the best type of costume because it's cute, cozy, and you can wear it again (without the antlers). Whenever I've created semi-DIY costumes, I've always shopped Walmart fashion for basics and accessories. Keep reading to see the 3 fun costumes I created with the $11 sweatshirt you absolutely need in your life plus butter-y leggings you won't want to take off- all from Walmart.
The "Base:"
For each costume, I started with a cozy sweatshirt and leggings. It's so soft, a great length (I'm tall so it will be longer on most of you), and comes in 4 great colors. I've worn it nonstop since I got it a couple of weeks ago. At just $11.98, I can't believe it's not sold out yet (but it's selling out in some sizes so grab it while you can)! The leggings come in a bunch of colors and the price can't be beat. They're comfortable, soft, and slimming and honestly rival a brand's we all know and love (rhymes with shmulu shlemon. haha). SIZING NOTE: I sized up in the sweatshirt. I always size up in leggings and did the same here, so I'd say order whatever size you normally wear when it comes to leggings.
Costume 1: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
I loved (LOVE) 80s fashion. This easy DIY 80's girl costume is so fun. The accessory kit is adorable and an easy way to 'dress up,' without a lot of hassle. I also added leg warmers, and bright makeup for a rad costume.
Oversized Gray Sweatshirt | Pink Butterluxe Leggings | 80s Costume Accessory Kit | Pink Legwarmers | Blush Pink sneakers
Look 2: Here, Kitty Kitty
You won't find an easier black cat costume- the leopard flats (shared at the end in the collage) didn't arrive in time, but paired with those, it's the cutest outfit for Halloween or for everyday. You can't tell in the image, but the leggings have a matte sheen to them. I love them!
Oversized Black Sweatshirt | Black Matte Faux Leather Butterluxe Leggings | Black Cat Costume Accessory Kit | String Bow Cheetah Ballet Flats
Costume 3: Enchanting Doe
Lastly, a fun Deer Costume- guys, I can't with this floral crown. So so pretty! And when I tell you I've worn this set (without the makeup/accessories obvi) numerous times in the past couple of weeks, I'm not lying. It's just so cozy and so my colors.
Oversized Taupe Sweatshirt | Brown Butterluxe Leggings | Deer Costume Accessory Kit | Woodland Fairy Headband | Suede Platform Clog Slippers
Which look is your favorite? I'm team "dress up," but either way, I HIGHLY recommend the comfy sweatshirt and leggings! You'll thank me. I mean it.
