Thank you Spoonflower for sponsoring this post. All opinions are mine.

I always knew if I ever installed wallpaper in my home, it would be grasscloth wallpaper. Maybe it's having a close college friend who's a professional designer but even before I knew the difference between the terms renovate and remodel, I knew I loved grasscloth. When Spoonflower asked if I'd be interested in introducing you to their brand new grasscloth wallpaper, I was all "1000 times YES!" The only tricky part was choosing a pattern. That's right- I said pattern! Spoonflower can now print any pattern (and there are thousands!) onto grasscloth wallpaper and if that's not feeding two birds with one scone, I don't know what is. I've heard from many of you that finding a wallpaper pattern you love- on Spoonflower- is daunting, so today I'm sharing my tips to choose a favorite plus a discount code for you!

When Bed Bath & Beyond approached me to collaborate, I knew exactly what area needed a spring refresh. My poor front porch was still sportin its Christmas look. In March. Yikes. I saw this as an opportunity to get my life together. So I did what any reasonable human would do and spent hours pouring through their site. It was easy to get lost- so many lanterns, planters, and doormats, oh my. Here's what I picked and some steps I took (fine- I still have one more item to mark off my list!) to give our front porch a little love and the spring makeover it deserved.

I'm trying to be better at celebrating progress. I'm the type who accomplishes something and is immediately thinking about what I need to do next. Or wishing I'd done more. I'm working on giving myself a break and celebrating progress over perfection. You should join me! Let's kick it off by sharing the progress made in 2020. Despite all its drama, 2020 was a big year in many ways. It's the first time my sole job wasn't being a mom (since 2011!), it's the year I went from 2000 followers to 32,000, and it's the year I could finally stop using air quotes when I described the blog as my job. Here's what I did with a little more time on my hands, make that what WE did, as Joe and I 'stayed home' all spring.

Hey! Welcome to a peek of my home! I love autumn and can't wait to share a few simple areas to make a big impact when decorating for the season. I'm pretty excited to be a stop on the home tour hosted by Meg of Green With Decor. Make sure to visit the creative and lovely homes featured for so many great ideas and inspiration. But wait, stay here for a bit!

Buying a new home means you get to start fresh. I am not a naturally organized person but I'm slowly getting there. One thing I knew I wanted in this house was one place for mail to land, a family calendar, and a place to put notes/reminders. I was inspired by the beautiful command center pictured.

I'm a little sad. This is the last installment of our Pretty Real Home Series. I hope you've learned a few things along the way. I sure did. Today Amber will be sharing her wisdom with us. If you haven't visited her blog you should.  Go ahead. I'll wait. Just make sure to come back. ;) Amber blogs with her husband and I swear if it was a goal of theirs, they could be the next YHL. They are that good. Their home is gorgeous and while they're taking it one space at a time, I've seen enough to know the evolution is one worth watching. And also I can attribute my ever increasing use of black in my home directly to Amber and Nick. Hashtag trendsetters. So I've gushed enough. Let's chat with Amber!

We're back with another installment of the Pretty Real Home Series. I've loved learning how to make my home stylish but also a practical haven for my family and hope you have too. Today we'll be chatting with Kristin of Paige Simple. Paige Simple is a stationery and party decor company, in short, but so much more. Kristin creates the most beautiful soirees and in my opinion is the best at the edit. It's beautiful, it's calculated, but somehow it seems simple. It seems she uses those same talents in her home. And for diversity's sake, I wanted to include someone with more transitional style. If the arrows and cow skull in my home freaked you out, or the black dining room in Abby's, or the mini Eames chairs in Jessica's, this is a great chance to see intentional and pretty design executed in a more traditional way.  So without further ado...

I don't know why I'm suddenly so into mantle decor. It's become a fun challenge to change it up by shopping my home. In our last house we had a fireplace I hated (Side note: why didn't we paint the brick white? Seriously if you are living with something you hate-with-a-capital-H because you're afraid or not "supposed" to paint it, just stop! YOU are the one living there. Don't stare at something you don't love for 12 years because you're scared!). So back to my point- our fireplace now isn't particularly fancy but it's bright, fresh, and a completely clean slate. With that in mind, the current black and gold accents felt too heavy for spring/summer. So a spring mantle was the goal.

Happy Friday! We're back with another installment of the Pretty Real Home Series. I can't wait to share what Abby has to say. I met Abby years and years ago and loved her chic Parisian haircut, style, and heart for the hurting.  She simply has style and grace. I visited her home when her stud muffin Judah was born and I was in awe of how well she put it together.  Since then she's started an interior stylist design company and I love to see how she takes rooms with no real design purpose and remakes them with style, practicality, and on a budget to boot.  She's one of the friends I know I can shoot a text to when I'm stumped for a fresh but educated perspective.  So without further ado:

Hello! We're back to the Pretty Real Home Series. This time, we're interviewing Jessica of Live the Fancy Life.  Jessica has become one of my closest friends over the past couple of years.  We bond over blogging, our boys (who are just a couple of months apart), and a love for design, parties, photography, and writing.  If you've never checked out Live the Fancy Life, you just have to. Jessica has such a way of making "fancy" life seem attainable. It's pretty, fresh, positive, and chock full of amazing inspiration.  Jessica is a beautiful person and coinciding with this series, has a beautiful home.  So let's chat with her and get some great advice shall we?
